A Gender Analysis of the Right to a Nationality in Myanmar.

Abstract

This report explores the barriers experienced by women in Myanmar in acquiring, confirming, and retaining citizenship, as well as conferring citizenship to their children.2 This involves an exploration of Myanmar’s obligations under international law with respect to gender equality, the right to a nationality, the right to birth registration and equal nationality rights between men and women.
