The Ahfad Journal: Women and Change

The Ahfad  started in 1984 with Dr. Lee G. Burchinal, then a professor at the Ahfad University for Women, as the founding editor. Women and Change have been the only scholarly journal published on a regular basis in Sudan. the Journal is published twice a year, in June and December. Articles are to be written in English with Arabic and English abstracts simultaneously. Each issue contains 5 to 6 articles, summaries of senior research projects conducted by Ahfad students and book reviews.

Review of Law and Social Justice (RLSJ)

The Southern California Review of Law and Social Justice (RLSJ) promotes the discussion and examination of issues lying at the intersection of social justice and the law. RLSJ publishes legal narratives and analyses of case law and legislation that address the law's interaction with historically underrepresented groups and highlight the law's potential as an instrument of positive social change. These narratives and analyses borrow from the perspectives of a wide range of disciplines. The goal of RLSJ is to influence the development of the law in ways that encourage full and equal participation of all people in politics and society.

Since its inception in 1994, Theology & Sexuality has been the primary vehicle for those undertaking theological studies of sexuality and gender issues. It is an international, peer reviewed journal that also aims to be accessible to those with a non-professional interest in the field such as those engaged in counselling. Wagadu: A Journal of Transnational Women’s and Gender Studies (Open Access)

From the Soninke legend behind its name, “wagadu” has become the metaphor for women’s roles within families, communities, locally and globally. Extending our focus to gender in its diverse identities and expressions, our journal Wagadu is a forum for interdisciplinary feminist scholarship addressing issues of gender in its inevitable intersection with other social configurations such as race, place, and culture. In our transnational platform, we foster dialog that reflects the myriad situations and experiences particularly of African, Asian, and Latin American women as they are shaped by geopolitical hierarchies and actively participate in decolonizing struggles.  Pushing for new approaches in feminist scholarship, Wagadu welcomes innovation in style and subject matter through our single-topic special volumes and our mixed general volumes.  As an open-source journal, we aim to serve as a productive resource for the broad community of feminist scholars at all professional and geographical locations.
