Gaps in Education and the World of Work: A Gender Perspective

Abstract

Education is a fundamental requirement for enhancing overall quality of individual and societal life. It is an important determinant of national productivity and development of national human resources. Education, linked to the world of work, is essential for obtaining benefit from opportunities emerging from different sectors of the economy. The relationship between human development and economic growth is interrelated. Hence, the Government of India is committed to provide quality education. It has taken several initiatives for main streaming this concern. A nation’s future, to a great extent, depends on its educated people.
