Why Girls Run Away to Marry: Adolescent Realities and Socio-Legal Responses in India.

Abstract

With the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aiming to eliminate child and early marriage by 2030, there are renewed and magnified efforts to address the issue. The pressure to meet the time-bound SDG targets has made existing strategies and incremental changes seem insufficient, creating instead a momentum for approaches that appear to promise immediate results.
