Report on the Status of Widows in Swadhar Homes of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Odisha

Abstract

The aim of the study is to examine the status of Swadhar homes and specially the condition of widows residing in this homes. It suggests ways to ameliorate their living conditions and their children’s life across the states of Odisha, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The report provides recommendations for effective implementation of the scheme, so that the widows staying in these homes are rehabilitated to lead a meaningful and socio-economically productive life.
