Plan for Every Child: Gender Vulnerability Index Report - I

Abstract

The Gender Vulnerability Index (GVI) is a multi-dimensional composite index which is unique to the Indian Context. As part of Plan India’s Plan for Every Child initiative under the research portfolio, the organisation constructed the GVI, the first of its kind in the country. The primary objective of this multi-layered index is to capture comprehensively and collectively the situation of girls and women, across the four dimension of Protection, Poverty, Education, and Health, and across the Indian states.
