Abstract
Religions are based on the construction of ideal types which lead to the wide acceptance of what a `good’ man or `good’ woman should aspire to be. This primordial concern with what contemporary discourse views as understandings of masculinity and femininity has resulted in desirable role models as well as in views on what men and women should not be.
