Gender Dimension at Work and Employment: A Case of Sexual Harassment.
Abstract
Sexual harassment in the workplace is often considered to be solely an issue of women’s rights. This causes it to be neglected as the labor issue it represents. Sexual Harassment is a serious form of misconduct in the workplace that has severe impact not only on the employment of women but also on the workplace environment, company reputation and business. As the Commission of the European Union states, “sexual harassment pollutes the working environment and can have a devastating effect upon the health, confidence, morale and performance of those affected by it. The anxiety and stress produced by sexual harassment commonly lead to those subjected to it taking leave from work due to sickness, being less efficient at work, or leaving their job to seek work elsewhere
