Abstract

This Working Paper ‘Gender and Caste-Based Inequality in Health Outcomes in India’ provides evidence that women in India are not uniformly disadvantaged. For most health indicators, the status of women from ‘excluded groups’ such as Scheduled Castes is significantly worse than that of higher castes groups.
