Abstract
This study intended not only to inform policymakers and stakeholders but also to serve as a catalyst for further scholarly inquiry and advocacy. This research is situated at the intersection of labour studies, public health, and gender studies, and it contributes to multiple academic discourses while also offering practical recommendations for policy and practice. The study aims to assist policy makers interested in gender and development issues to implement targeted interventions towards promoting gender equality. It also envisions contributing towards promoting social justice that recognizes the dignity and rights of all workers, especially those who have been historically marginalised and undervalued.
